[Hot]Photo Recovery from Cracked Samsung Galaxy S/Edge

-- Tuesday, April 25, 2017
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge screen is cracked! I blame a poorly designed cover that didn't protect the edges. For those that are curious, I missed the pocket of my jeans, and the phone fell straight down and landed on the Edge. It functions perfectly fine. However, now there is a hole in my phone. Is it worth fixing, or should I just live with the broken screen?

  • For an owner of the cracked Samsung Galaxy, you may get two choices. The first one, which most of the users would pick up, would be replacing the broken screen with a new one. The other way would be switch to the completely new device (Of cause people wouldn't buy a new smartphone just because of the broken screen. The main point may be this gadget is pretty old or not good to use anymore, and the broken screen is just an incentive).

Selection 1: Replace Cracked Samsung Galaxy Screen

To replace a completely new Galaxy screen when it is broken or cracked may be the choice that most of the users would pick up. As the smartphone plays a very important role in our life and we need to get in touch with it every single day. We can not even stand with a tiny defect of it, to say nothing of the broken screen.

So how much does it cost to get a new Samsung screen?

How much a new Samsung screen would cost depends on your phone model. On an average it would take around $150 - $300. For instance, if you own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with cracked screen, the replacement would probably cost around $270. And for Samsung's new Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, the curved glass could cost between $200 and $260 to replace. But please do go to the manufacturer to fix it for the safety of data, though it is going to be more expensive than a third-party repair shop.

Selection 2: Switch to A New Smartphone

If your cracked Samsung is pretty old, like Samsung S5 or even earlier, you may want to switch to a new Samsung Galaxy S8.

But with the broken screen, you can not check any files even the system performs well, to say nothing if it breaks down. In this way, you need to extract the data from it, especially for photos and then restore the files to your new smartphone. Here I recommend the Android Photo Recovery to achieve the photo recovery from your cracked Galaxy S/Edge.

Step 1 Install Android Photo Recovery
First of all, please download and install the program on your Windows PC(the data extraction program can not support Mac yet). And then launch it and connect your broken Samsung to computer via the USB cable.

    Download Win Download Win

    Step 2 Start the Process
After the program detects your phone, please click on "Broken Android Data Extraction > Start" to begin the process.

    Choose Samsung Phone

Step 3 Put Samsung into Download Mode
Confirm your device and model and then follow the guide on the interface to put your broken Samsung into download mode. Then it would automatically download the recovery package. Please wait patiently.

    Enter Download Mode

Step 4 Restore Photos from Cracked Samsung
Now, the program would scan out the data on your cracked Samsung and after the process is done, you are able to preview the data. Choose the ones you want and click on the "Recover" button.

     Recover the Scanned Out Data

As the files would be exported to your computer with the program, you should now transfer the data to new device. You can follow this guide: How to Transfer Photos between Android and Computer. If you have any question, please drop us a comment below.
