How to Back up and Restore WhatsApp Messages to iCloud

Some iOS users choose to backup WhatsApp messages without iCloud, while other iOS users still have no idea on how to back up and restore WhatsApp messages with iCloud as Apple made it very challenging to download or access the files stored in an iCloud backup. So we write this tutorial for you to back up and recover your WhatsApp Messages via iCloud.

Part 1. Back up & Restore WhatsApp to iCloud on iPhone
Step 1 Start WhatsApp on your iPhone 7/SE/6s/6s Plus/6 Plus/6, etc. Log in WhatsApp with your account and the password.Step 2 Tap "WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up Now". After that, your chat history will be backed up to iCloud.
Note:
1) Must be signed into iCloud: Settings > iCloud
2) For iOS 7: Documents & Data must be set to ON: Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data
3) Videos are not included in the iCloud backup so that there is enough space for your chat history, attached photos, voice messages, and audios.

Step 3 To begin with, reinstall WhatsApp on iPhone. Key your phone number and click "Done".
Step 4 If you have previously backed up your chat logs, the application will instantly find out the backup once launched. When the pop-up interface shows, hit the "Restore Chat History" button.
If there is no backup of your WhatsApp, you will get the prompt saying "No Backup Found".
Part 2. Restore WhatsApp from iCloud Backup with iPhone Data Recovery
There is another alternative for you. If your iPhone got lost and purchase the new iPhone SE, you can use iPhone Data Recovery to restore WhatsApp from iCloud backup to iPhone SE.Step 1 Sign in iCloud Account
After installation, run the program. In left column of the main interface, choose "Recover from iCloud Backup File". Then, log in iCloud with the correct Apple ID and password. When successfully signed in, you will see all the iCloud backup listed in the table.
Hit the "Download" button next to the backup file you want. Then, select the "WhatsApp" & "WhatsApp attachments" in the pop-up box and click "Next" button.
The selected iCloud backup files will be downloading in a while. You can check how it goes from the process bar.
Step 3 Recover WhatsApp Messages from iCloud Backup
Tick the one that you want to restore, then, hit the "Recover" button at the bottom right corner to complete the recovery.
