Prisma AI: Turn Photos into Arts

-- Tuesday, January 24, 2017
Prisma, a free photo editor and art filters, is a photo-editing application released by Alexey Moiseenkov who also founded the Prisma labs, based in Moscow. The App utilizes a neural network and artificial intelligence to transform the image into an artistic effect. Users are allowed to capture photos by Prisma camera or upload pictures and then select a variety of filters to create the one with artistic effect on your own. By using the styles of famous artists (about 30 filters) including Van Gogh, Picasso, Levitan, as well as world famous ornaments and patterns, you are able to turn your unique moments into timeless art pieces.

Prisma App

Of cause, when comparing with the high-level work of professional fine artists, this app can not reach the result yet. However, I don’t think most of us could be a professional photographer or the creative oil painter that can produce the wonderful work. In this way, with the Prisma app, which do not need any human skill with it, allows us, the common people, to create our own artistic work. Some of the images edited by the Prisma app even could be the fascinating simulacrums of real art.

In this way, you may wonder how it works and want to have a try. Actually, it is pretty simple to use without any complicated steps. You can have a check of guide below

1. Download and install the Prisma app on your Android device.

2. Open the Prisma app.

3. You are able to capture a photo right away with the Prisma camera by tapping on shutter button, or using an existing photo from your Photo Gallery by tapping the "GALLERY" right behind the shutter button.

4. Select a filter from the horizontal list. You can have many different choices, and please just swift the list from left to right.

5. Wait for some times for the creating process. Then change the effect intensity by sliding finger horizontally across photo.

6. Save or share the photo.

Sometimes you may come across the problem of failure to connect to Prisma and it keeps telling you it's over capacity. The app relies on the remote processing and sometimes the servers are overloaded. Please wait a little while and try again. But you need to make sure you've got a reliable data connection and do not hit the home while Prisma is processing.

The Prisma app on Android is still on its way and it may be not perfect enough for some of the users. But I do think the company will keep improving it and work out the existing issues.
